It was another big year for bumps and babies. With the rising popularity of Instagramming everything from the first sign of a bigger belly to a swaddled newborn, it seemed like pregnancy was everywhere in 2016. Here are some of the top-hyped babies of the
1. York Banks Asla: The first child of supermodel Tyra Banks and her husband, Erik Asla, York was born in early 2016 through a surrogate. 2. Dream Renee Kardashian: Robert Kardashian and Blac Chyna gave birth to their first child with cameras rolling. Though it’s rumored they may have split up only a month later, we’re not yet sure whether that’s a plotline for their show or a moment of actual reality. 3. Dimitri Portwood Kutcher: Childhood co-stars and adult lovebirds Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher welcomed their second child earlier this year. Dimitri is the brother of Wyatt Isabelle. 4. Amada Lee Gosling: Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling named their second daughter after Mendes’ grandmother. Amada, which means “beloved” in Spanish, is a favorite name for the couple. Their first daughter’s full name is Esmeralda Amada Gosling. 5. Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger: Mick Jagger and his girlfriend, model Melanie Hamrick, welcomed Jagger’s eighth child in December. And the baby boy is named for his place in the family: Octavian beans “born eighth” in Latin. 6. Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman: Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, welcomed their first child back in March, after almost four years of marriage. His middle name, Rosebanks, is a combination of Shulman’s mother’s maiden name, Banks, and Hathaway’s grandfather’s name, Roseline. 7. Violet Krasinski: Because Emily Blunt and John Krasinski needed one more reason to be the most adorable couple on the planet, they added their second child to their family in June. Violet joins her big sister, Hazel, who was born in 2014. Maybe we’ll see some Indigos or Magentas in the future? 8. Luna Simone Stephens: Chrissy Teigen stirred some controversy after announcing that she’d picked the gender of her first child with John Legend. When met with backlash, Tiegen took to Twitter to lighten the mood, writing, “I also picked the embryo with a taste for bacon, a knack for magic and a size 7 feet so she can always find shoes.” Luna was born in April. 9. Ashe Olsen Meyers: When asked if people would think that Seth Meyers named his child after one of the Olsen twins, the late-night host was quick to quip he was more of a Mary-Kate fan anyway. Ashe is the first child for Meyers and his wife, Alexi Ashe. 10. Caleb Kelechi Asomugha: It’s handled. Kerry Washington and her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, welcomed their second child in October. Caleb’s sister, Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, was born in April 2014.
