Texas sweeps Rice; UH wins again

AUSTIN — Texas (2-1) cruised to a 6-1 victory over Rice in the second game of a doublehead­er Saturday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

In the opener, Longhorns left fielder Travis Jones threw out a runner at the plate to end the game and give Texas (2-1) its first win, 5-4. Rice (1-2) won the series opener Friday. HOUSTON 5 NICHOLLS ST. 3
