SARAH JO “SALLY” CLENDENIN COX

1926-2017

-

41 years where they became members of the Champion Forest Baptist Church and Champions Golf Club.

She had a contagious laugh and a love of music. A special group of elderly women known as the “Ya-Ya’s” held a special meeting every week for music, wine, and a discussion of topics ranging from gossip to political. In spite of Macular Degeneration which caused her blindness during the last 10 years of her life, she continued to enjoy friends, music, TV, and audiobooks from the Texas “Talking Books” program. She was cared for until the end by her loving son Stanley Cox and wife Barbara, and for two years at home by her grandson Barret Gau.

She was blessed with a wonderful caregiver, Ximena Monge, from 2010 through 2015, even going to Assisted Living and staying overnight
