Baylor clinches Big 12 crown
WACO — Nina Davis scored 16 points, coach Kim Mulkey reached her 500th career victory, and Baylor claimed its seventh consecutive Big 12 regular-season title Saturday with an 86-48 victory over Texas Tech.
The Lady Bears’ victory also made Mulkey the second-fastest coach to reach the 500-win milestone. Only her mentor, former Louisiana Tech coach Leon Barmore, needed fewer games (576) to reach 500 wins than Mulkey (594).
Baylor (27-2, 16-1) led 28-11 after shooting 62 percent in the first quarter and remained in control the rest of the way.

Katie Lou Samuelson scored 29 points to lead the No. 1 Huskies over the Tigers at Storrs, Conn., extending UConn’s record winning streak to 103.

Kelsey Plum surpassed Jackie Stiles to become the NCAA’s all-time scoring leader with a career-best 57 points to lead the No. 11 Huskies.
