Charles Smith Fulwiler, passed away on February 18, 2017, in Houston, Texas. He was born December 17, 1929 to Charles Calvin Fulwiler and Luella Smith Fulwiler in Belton, Texas.

Charles graduated from Belton High School in 1947. He then attended Abilene Christian College, followed by Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He began working at Houston Lighting and Power in 1951 and retired in 1992 as manager of Substation Engineerin­g. During his life in Houston, Charles served as an auxiliary policeman for the West University Police Department and in 1963, was a championsh­ip coach for his son’s West University Little League team.

Charles was an avid snow skier and loved jeeping in the Colorado Mountains, often exploring the mining towns and was granted permission by the Mayor to enter the mines, allowing him to take photograph­s for newspaper articles.

Charles also enjoyed woodworkin­g, designing and building beautiful 18th Century furniture for his homes.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two grandchild­ren.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Tempie Rebekah Peters Fulwiler; sons Charles David Fulwiler and Robert Everette Bringol, his wife Amy and children Luke and Ethan; daughter Kim Fulwiler Nabors; brother Robert Neal Fulwiler; nephew, Roger Neal Fulwiler and wife Susan; grandchild­ren Anthony Cole Bringol and Brittainy Bringol.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 5pm on Wednesday, March 1st, in the Colonial Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
