MARY ELOISE MOORE NETHERTON

Mary Eloise Moore Netherton died surrounded by her husband and children on February 21st, 2017. She was born in Dallas, Texas July 10th, 1931, the daughter of Katrina Reid and Frank W. Moore, who along with her brother Francis, preceded her in death. Eloise is survived by her husband of 64 years, Horace William (Bill) Netherton Jr. and her four children, twelve grandchild­ren and three great-grandchild­ren: Nancy Netherton Ellison and husband Gary, children: Will and fiancé Jessica, Georgia and husband Rob Grainger and Glenna; H.W. (Bill)Netherton III and wife Lesa, children: Mary Kathryn, H.W. (Bill) IV and wife Rae and Walker; Claire Netherton Wendlandt and husband James, children: Michael, Callie and Catherine; and Frank Moore Netherton and wife Sue, children: Elisabeth and husband Tristan Longino, Hayley and Emily. Great grandchild­ren Robert Grainger, and Cecily and Meyer Longino.

Eloise was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd of which her parents were founding members. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in English in 1952 and a Master of Science in Social Work in 1971. Eloise served as a member of the Altar Guild at Good Shepherd for many years. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity during college and was involved in the Austin Alumnae Associatio­n serving in a multitude of roles in the Alumnae Associatio­n, and the House Board for Beta Xi Chapter House at UT. Eloise served as a Fraternity Province Officer and was a National Council member for many years as a Director of Philanthro­pies 1982-1986 and later a Vice President with the Fraternity Council from 1986-1988. Additional­ly, Eloise was a member of the Settlement Club, and a long time employee of The Austin Travis County MHMR Center until her retirement in January of 2002. At her retirement, after 31 years with MHMR, Eloise was recognized with an Austin Outstandin­g Citizen Award, and was commended by Senator Gonzalo Barrientos and the State of Texas with a proclamati­on and commendati­on for her years of service and dedication to the citizens of Austin, Travis County and the State of Texas.

Box 38, Columbus, OH 43216. Additional­ly, if you have any special memories or stories or pictures of your friendship with Eloise, please write them down and mail them to Nancy Ellison, 319 Patchester Drive, Houston, TX 77079, who will be compiling a book for the grandchild­ren.

A private graveside service will be held at the Netherton family cemetery and a celebratio­n of life service will be held at a later date.
