GHBA Benefit home: Trendmaker receives vendor donations

-

Trendmaker Homes received dozens of donations to complete construction of its Greater Houston Builders Association Benefit Homes Project home, which when sold at market value will have proceeds benefit three local charities.

“Our vendors have been incredibly generous through all phases of construction,” said Will Holder, president of Trendmaker Homes and the chairman of the Benefit Homes Project Committee. “They did not hesitate to step up when they found out that the sale of this home would go to such valuable organizations. We couldn’t be happier with their commitment to giving back to our community.”

Trendmaker is nearing completion of its F501C plan with the fourth-bedroom option.

“This is one of our most popular designs,” Holder said, “and with the upgrades and amenities it includes, it is certain to sell quickly.”

Trendmaker built the Benefit home on a homesite in Meridiana, a master-planned community. Rise Communities, the developer, donated the site.

Each year two homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with donated land, materi-

als and services by GHBA members. The homes offer a variety of the most popular features and amenities on the market today. They are sold at market value and the majority of the proceeds benefit Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Since the fundraiser began 37 years ago, nearly $10 million has been raised.

The vendors who have donated to the home’s construction include: Ochoa Painting, Old Castle, Perfection Supply, Schlage, Shaw Flooring, Sherwin Williams Paint Co., Southwest Sales, Square D by Schneider Electric, Standard Electric, Stock/ Bison, Therma Tru, Wayne Dalton and Weyerheauser.

For 45 years, Trendmaker Homes has been a well-known name in Houston’s new home market. “Trendmaker’s reputation ensures the Benefit Homes Project will be a success,” said Terry Swenson, GHBA project liaison. “... This is indeed an exciting year for the Benefit Homes Project.”

Meridiana, south of the Texas Medical Center off Texas 288 and Texas 6, is a new 2,700-acre community that is accessible by the new Meridiana Parkway (County Road 56), provides an easy commute heading north to the Texas Medical Center or south to Dow Chemical, BASF and other Brazoria County workplaces.

In addition to luxury homes by some of Houston’s finest home builders, Meridiana MPC is offering a waterfront Amenity Village where residents can enjoy a resort-style family pool with cabanas, cafe, kids’ splash pad, spacious fitness center with on-site personal trainers and outdoor amphitheater.
