Tell us about why you love where you make a living

-

How much do you love the place where you work? We’re going to let you count the ways.

This fall, the Chronicle will publish its eighth annual Top Workplaces report for greater Houston based on employee surveys. To nominate your company for an award, just tell us what you like: the flexible hours, the perks, the benefits, the conscientious management, the foosball tables — or maybe the nap room.

And tweet a photo of what makes your workplace so awesome to @chronbusiness.

“A company should be considered a sacred thing. It allows people to earn livings, pay for homes and college educations, as well as pay the taxes that support our communities,” Business Editor Al Lewis said. “At the Houston Chronicle, we celebrate area companies that take care of their employees.”

Last year, almost 77,000 local workers gave feedback about their employers as part of the Top Workplaces program. Anyone, from employees to customers or top executives, can make a nomination.

The deadline is May 12. Tweet those photos anytime.

Organizations must have at least 50 local employees to qualify. Private, public, nonprofit and government workplaces can all take part.

To determine winners, Chronicle partner WorkplaceDynamics conducts short employee surveys that will be completed by mid-July.

WorkplaceDynamics works with more than 40 major news organizations across the country, and last year surveyed more than 2 million employees.
