Splashway grows again

-

Splashway Waterpark and Campgrounds, in Sheridan, continues to impress returning guests with new features every year since 2007. A recent investment is in water quality. Every drop of water flowing through Splashway Waterpark receives the state recommended dosage of chemical disinfectant and passes through UV light to kill bacteria. This practice is unheard of on large outdoor bodies of water.

“We’ve continued to reinvest every year,” said General Manager Carl Blahuta, “We are just getting started.”

Splashway is investing millions in the waterpark and campgrounds.

“We won’t reveal everything just yet,” said Park director, Matt Tice, “but expect more excitement in the coming months.” The latest reveal is Ray’s Riptide, a new ride in a class of its own that can be a regional attraction. Towering 63 feet and hosting four riders in a cloverraft, Ray’s Riptide passes through a translucent and twist before dropping at a 45-degree angle into the mouth of a wave. Guests can prepare to be on edge for a unique experience.

In the past five years, Splashway added the tallest head-first mat racer in Texas, an eight-line zip line adventure, the Tornado Tubebowl slide, a family lounge lagoon and a wavepool beach serving up wave action.

“You will not find a better, crisper wave,” said Tice.

Beyond waterpark attractions, enhancements have been made to the kid areas and campground which includes more than 50 cabin and cottages, over 130 full hook-up RV sites, recreational trails, play areas, and a lake for kayaking, stocked with bass and catfish for fishing.

“Growing is fun,” Blahuta said, “but nothing is more important than our service. Our guests are not referred to as ‘customers’ — they are family.”

While they are excited to talk about waterslides, Blahuta wants to talk about Splashway’s team. “Our family of over 350 employees is unmatched in the industry. Respect and service run through their veins.”

Splashway opening day is May 13, weekends only until May29, when the park is open seven days a week.
