Nancy Cheaney Jackson passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017. She was 64. Nancy was born in Denver, Colorado, on June 30, 1952, to Oscar Lee and Helen Cheaney. She taught Social Studies in Spring Branch Independen­t School District in Houston for 43 years. Nancy taught at Northbrook High School for 42 years. She was on the Alief Independen­t School District School Board nine years and served as Board President. To all of those who knew Nancy, she was passionate about teaching, education and loved her time in the classroom.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Lee and Helen.

She is survived by her daughters, Jill (Steve) and Abby (Neil); granddaugh­ter, Elena; brother, Rob (Sharon); sister, Barbara (Bruce); and nephews, Joey and Chris (Jessica).

A visitation will be held 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Monday, April 17, in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 Antonine Dr., Houston 77055. The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, in the Chapel of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston 77079. The interment will take place in Santa Anna, Texas, on Thursday, April 20.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made by check to the Spring Branch Education Foundation in memory of Nancy V. Jackson to be designated to Northbrook High School.
