Miss Adriana Kristina Banks Weds Mr. Mark St. Cyr Monroe

Miss Adriana Kristina Banks and Mr. Mark St. Cyr Monroe were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at seven o’clock in the evening at St. Michael Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Leon Frank Strieder, S.L.D. Scripture was read by Mrs. Sylvia Dorsey, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Catherine Prudhomme and Mrs. Anne Scott, aunts of the groom.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Christophe­r Popelka, organist, Amanda Kingston, cantor, and the Ambient Arts String Quartet. The bride’s father hosted a seated dinner at River Oaks Country Club, with music by the band Think Big Party from Dallas. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at B&B Butchers & Restaurant.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Adriana Louise Longoria and Mr. Samuel Lide Banks, both of Houston. She is the granddaugh­ter of Ms. Marceline Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas, the late Mr. and Mrs. Eduardo Longoria of Laredo, Texas, and the late Mr. William Banks of Dumas, Arkansas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Frank Monroe of Houston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Vincent Garvey, the late Colonel and Mrs. Glenn Stell, and the late Mr. Frank Henry Monroe, all of Houston.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. The blush, sleeveless illusion gown of Chantilly lace and silk tulle feature a V-neck sweetheart neckline with a drop waist corset bodice. The full A-line skirt with an asymmetric­al overlay fell into a soft circular chapel train. To complement the gown, the bride wore a long ivory illusion cathedral veil with Chantilly lace by Toni Federici. She carried a garden bouquet of lilac, freesia, roses, tulips, viburnum and ranunculus.

Serving the bride as Matron of Honor was her cousin, Elizabeth Fertitta. Bridesmaid­s were Mary Ellen Brook, Jennifer Hart, sister in law of the bride, Kendall Monroe, sister in law of the groom and Donna Tripodi. The bridesmaid­s wore various styles of blush colored dresses by Monique Lhuillier.

Honor attendants were Tania Amin, Jennifer Bernd, Pamela Brylski, Laina Caltigiron­e, Lauren Craft, Elizabeth Kappler, Katie Lucia, Megan MacIntyre, Natassia McMillian, Ariel Reed, Adrienne Shea and Annina Stefanelli. Serving as flower girl was Angelina Fertitta, second cousin of the bride.

Serving the groom as best man was his twin brother, David Monroe. Groomsmen included Forrest Hart and Raymond Hart, brothers of the bride, Thomas Monroe and Will Monroe, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Andrew Clifton, Michael Foster, David Gorham and Paul Koller.

The ring bearers were Zachary Fertitta, second cousin of the bride, and Grady Hart, James Hart and Pace Monroe, all nephews of the bride and groom.

Adriana is a 2003 graduate of Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. She graduated in 2007 from Tulane University with a BA in Business and Spanish. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is currently a top producer at John Daugherty Realtors.

Mark is a 2004 graduate of Strake Jesuit in Houston, Texas. He graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Drew University, where he was a member of the lacrosse team, serving as Captain in 2008. He is a broker of natural gas derivative­s at Cornerston­e Global Commoditie­s, LLC.

Following a honeymoon in Spain, Italy, and France, the couple will reside in Houston.
