Miss Lauren Ann McCulloch Weds Mr. Gregory Scott Semlinger

Miss Lauren Ann McCulloch and Mr. Gregory Scott Semlinger were united in marriage on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at six o’clock in the evening at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The Reverend Chad T. Martin officiated the double ring ceremony. Scripture was read by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Karen Delaney, and by a close family friend, Mrs. Mary Ryan. Organist Dr. David Henning provided music for the ceremony, together with soloist Ms. Annamarie Zmolek. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Astorian. The New Orleans Hustlers Brass Band of Houston, Texas provided music for the entrance of the couple into the reception, followed by guests in a traditiona­l New Orleans “second line”. Blind Date Austin of Austin, Texas provided entertainm­ent for the reception. On the eve of the wedding, Mrs. Karen Delaney, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Sharon Staley hosted a luncheon for the bride and bridal party at the Manor House at the Houstonian, and the groom’s father hosted an outing for the groom, groomsmen and ushers. That evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Damian’s Cucina Italiana.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lawrence McCulloch of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCulloch of Bay St. Louis, Mississipp­i and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stephen Regula Jr. of Washington Township, New Jersey.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Howard Semlinger of Bryan, Texas and Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. Richard Ferdinand Semlinger & the late Laverne Howard Semlinger of Lufkin, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Paul Little Sr. of Lufkin, Texas.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. The silk white strapless gown of organza floral embroidere­d appliqué and silk tulle featured a sweetheart neckline with fitted natural waist bodice. The full A-line skirt fell into a soft circular chapel train. To complement the gown, the bride wore a white long illusion cathedral veil edged with appliqué by Oscar de la Renta.

Bridesmaid­s were Lauren Marie Williams, sister of the groom, and Elizabeth Burkhead, Sarah Essary, Elizabeth Miller and Courtney Pope.

Graham James McCulloch, brother of the bride, and Brian Frink, Eric Nixdorf, Anami Patel and Charles Scroggins served as groomsmen; and Stetson Formby, Jefferson Goldman, Page Griffin and Mark Melasky served as ushers.

Lauren is a graduate of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart in Houston, Texas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, and her Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lauren is an associate in the Houston office of the Morgan, Lewis & Bockius law firm.

Greg graduated from Lufkin High School in Lufkin, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University where he received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting. Greg is a CPA who manages internatio­nal tax and trust issues at Atlantic Principal Advisors in Houston.

After a honeymoon in the Amalfi Coast, Rome and Paris, the couple will reside in the Heights with their dog, Strega, who was distressed at her inability to attend either the wedding or the honeymoon.
