LELIA MARIE NASSER

1925-2017

Lelia Marie Nasser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on her 92nd birthday on April 27, 2017, surrounded by what she loved most in life-her family and friends. Born on April 27, 1925 in Cairo, Illinois to the late Bella A. Clouatre and Joseph O. Ory, she and her family spent many years in Wood River, Illinois, where she met and married the love of her life, Emil Nasser, with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Lelia relocated to Houston with Emil in 1953, where they raised their five children. She is the beloved grandmother of six and great-grandmother of three.

In addition to the full time job of caring for her family, Lelia was an avid quilter, bridge-player and cook, and with Emil traveled extensively, residing for several years in Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. She cherished her family, friends, and church and will be greatly missed. Lelia was predeceased by her husband, who passed away in 2011. She is survived by her loving family, children: Susan Turner( David Hollrah); Brenda Nasser(Ed Cline); Daniel Nasser(Karen); Michael Nasser; Peter Nasser(Veronica); grandchildren: Kate Turner, Josh Turner, Jessica Streifel, Sarah Nasser, David Nasser and Audrey Nasser; great-grandchildren: Killian Streifel, Henry Turner and Emma Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family also thanks her devoted caregiver, Concha Bautista.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link Rd, Houston, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations in her name be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or Covenant House of Houston.
