George Barron Rush Sr., known as “GB” to many, returned to his heavenly home on April 22, 2017, passing unexpected­ly but peacefully, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 87. George is survived by his wife, Elva Conde of Houston, Texas; and his son, George Barron Rush Jr. of The Woodlands, Texas. He is also survived by grandchild­ren Gerod & Amber Rush and their children, Brinley & Macie Rush of The Woodlands, Texas; Andrea Rush of The Woodlands, Texas; Nicholas & DMietress Myers and their children, Morgan & Mason Myers, of Lampasas, Texas; Melissa Myers of Harker Heights, Texas and her children, Aaron Herring of New Braunfels, Texas, and Trevor, Elijah and Cassidey Dotson of Sugar Land, Texas. He is preceded in death by his first wife JoAnn Ford Rush of Herrin, Illinois; his daughter, Rosemarie Rush of Houston, Texas; his father, Dr. Rufus Rush; his mother, Marie Rush; his brother, Rufus Rush; and his sister, Martha Jane Mauldin; whom all were from San Marcos, Texas; additional­ly, his second wife, Dorothy Parrish Rush, of Port Neches, Texas.

George Rush loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was an Aggie Yell Leader, Class of ‘53, who “Fought ‘em Fair” to the very end. George believed in hard work and dedication to family. Most importantl­y, he believed in Jesus, and he let that be known to anyone who had the honor of meeting him. George’s ministries impacted countless lives and he was loved by all.

George Rush was laid to rest today, Sunday, April, 30, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

The family gratefully thanks you for your prayers and the memories you share, of a wonderful, larger-thanlife man, who will be missed by all.
