Agent, her ‘bunny’ deliver big for holiday celebrations
Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene agent Liz Bisbee of The Woodlands office teamed up with her husband, Michael Bisbee, to present “Easter With The Bisbees,” a neighborhood gathering in the Archwyck subdivision of The Woodlands, which has become a tradition. Close to 300 neighbors came out for the giant Easter Egg hunt in Spinning Wheel Park, now in its third year, followed by a movie night on their front lawn.
While Liz ensured all the details were covered, Michael served as the Easter Bunny. In addition to getting in costume for the Bisbee neighborhood event, he has served as the Easter Bunny and Santa for The Woodlands Township for the past three years.
“It’s a wonderful way to bring our neighborhood together,” Liz said. “This is where my family lives and where I work — it just makes sense to host an event where our friends and neighbors can reconnect.”
The Bisbees also host an event with Santa in Spinning Wheel Park complete with an evening movie night for families and photos. In 2016, the Bisbees’ home holiday decorations featured snow nightly for the 10 days leading up to Christmas and received second-place honors on The Woodlands Tour of Holiday Homes. During the 2015 holiday season, their home was voted the best in Sterling Ridge by the community association.
“Hosting these events is a great way to give back to the community,” Liz said. “Our neighbors are so appreciative of the events we hold and the joy it brings to their children.”
••• John Daugherty, Realtors agents Lisa Kornhauser, Emelie Mavligit, Kristine Martinez, Laura Mayer, Kathy Dreyfus, Belinda Schmidt and Jan Pappert were co-sponsors for Dining by Fireflies, which was a preview preceding the grand opening of the park. Evelyn’s Park is located in Bellaire on 5 acres of green space that has been transformed into a community park. Guests enjoyed live music, cocktails and dining al fresco while meeting award-winning chefs from The Ivy & James, a cafe located on the premises.
The event allowed guests to explore the park grounds and celebrate the opening of a new venue that will offer the community a place to hang out, relax, and rekindle a connection with the outdoors and each other. Funds that were raised from the event will be used to help the park with operations and programming. The John Daugherty, Realtors team said they will continue to support Evelyn’s Park in “any and every way that we can.” ••• Bernstein Realty’s Samantha Bacon, marketing director, recently organized a group of agents, staff and friends to participate in Rebuilding Together’s home improvement projects over two Saturdays. She said Team Bernstein felt strongly about the mission of the organization, which is to transform the lives of lowincome homeowners by improving the safety and health of their home and revitalizing communities.
The group repainted and did repairs to a home of a disabled veteran and his wife.
“We greatly enjoyed the experience of giving back and helping a very deserving and wonderful couple,” Bacon said.
Team Bernstein hopes to make this an annual effort and increase the team size each year. Members of the inaugural team included: Stan and Suzie Davis, Mark Pesek, Bob Murdock, Clare Byrd Mary Piper, Andrew and Samantha Bacon, Sarah-Anne Fehr and Wendy Bernstein.
••• Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty Memorial area agent Angela Longo recently provided pizza, cookies and drinks to the 7th and 8th grade Rugby team for the Regis School during their game against The British International School. A new rugby tradition may have taken root that day with the familiar clang of the Martha Turner cowbells she distributed to cheer on the Regis Knights.
