JOE MACK LAKE

1939-2017

Joe met his savior on May 18, 2017 after a short stay in the hospital. He was born in Jacksonvil­le, Texas on November 12, 1939 and grew up in the Houston area. He is predecease­d by parents Clifton and Ann Lake and daughter Michelle Lake Crowson. He is survived by two former wives Gloria Lake of Lufkin and Carolyn Lake of Pearland, daughter Beth Ann Figenshaw of Lufkin, and twin sister Charlotte Lake Fowler of Spring. Also survived by two granddaugh­ters Callie Hunt and Shelbee Hernandez and four great-grandchild­ren Brylie Hunt, Dawson Hunt, Olivia Hernandez, and Avery Hernandez. Joe grew up in Houston and graduated from Milby High School in 1958 and attended Sam Houston State University. He was in the Texas Air National Guard from 1957 - 1963. Joe worked in the Petrochemi­cal Industry in Deer Park and Pasadena. He enjoyed deer hunting and socializin­g with his many friends, especially with seven couples who graduated from Milby with him and enjoyed dining together frequently for the past sixty years. Special thanks to his good friend Don Whitley who was a life-long friend. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Joe on Wednesday, May 24th at 11:00 am at the Chapel of the Angels at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
