North that Korea expertson Sundaysaid could tested reacha missilethe U.S. territory of Guam. The missile was tested by launching it more than 1,300 miles vertically, which landed it in waters only a few hundred miles from North Korea’s coast. Experts said if launched in a conventional trajectory, such a missile could travel up to 3,000 miles, easily reaching the U.S. naval base at Guam, just 2,200 miles away. Also this week, cybersecurity experts have suggested the possibility that North Korea may have been behind last week’s WannaCry cyberattack, but they say nothing is certain yet. Cybersecurity experts have identified similarities between the code used in the WannaCry attack and previous malware tied to North Korea. But this attack — which took data hostage for ransom — doesn’t fit North Korea’s M.O., experts say.
