Wolff has skills to determine what buyers want in home

- By Rebecca Maitland HOMES CORRESPONDENT

When people are looking for a home, most say something like they would like a three-bedroom home with two or three baths and two-car garage.

However, not just any home that fits this description works because there is so much more to most buyers’ want list.

However, Ed Wolff, Realtor and president of Beth Wolff Realtors Real Living, has the talent and skills to keep the conversations going with buyers to understand exactly what they want.

“I work with clients to find out exactly what they want, such as do they want a walkable area, maybe a house like the one they grew up in, or a kitchen like their grandmother’s. These are things people do not readily mention,” Wolff said.

Many real estate websites have a host of questions about what a person might be looking for in a home, but they do not ask questions that really get to the heart of buyers.

Today, the market is very active, and many buyers are looking, so it is a good time to buy or sell.

“The market today is also a normal market. We have inventory, and things are not so frantic that people have the time to consider a property, making it easier to make a decision,” Wolff said.

There are also more in-town buyers than has been seen in the past, and so some outlying areas are moving a little slower, but these houses are also selling, it may just take

extra time.

Wolff has several tips for buyers, including:

• Take time to find something that has almost everything you want;

• Be flexible; and

• Understand that most of the time, there is not one home that will have everything a buyer is looking for, so compromise is important.

For sellers, Wolff’s tips include being able to take constructive criticism when it comes to preparing your home for market, and being able to see your home through buyers’ eyes.

“However, we can help overcome these challenges. We help with staging and preparing the home for market and most importantly, making sure your home is priced right to sell,” Wolff said.
