Elyson sets summer swimming with fun poolside cafe service
At Elyson, a new community in the Katy Independent School District, residents enjoyed an early start to an extended swim season at the Rorick House community center.
Soon, Elyson residents will start enjoying a unique feature: poolside service from the Rorick Kitchen cafe.
Elyson’s pool combines a beach entry lagoon area with lap lanes for swimmers. For soaking up the sun, the pool has submerged lounging shelves plus plenty of poolside chairs.
When they work up a thirst or an appetite, residents just have to walk up to the outside service window at Rorick Kitchen a few steps away. They can enjoy their refreshments and watch TV on the big covered patio, or take them back to the pool area, where they can relax under covered pavilions and umbrella-shaded tables.
Open daily, Rorick Kitchen offers a seasonally changing menu of smoothies, milkshakes, burgers, salads, sandwiches, pastas, soups and snacks. Beer and wine are available.
Rorick House also has a fitness center with a design that lets parents keep an eye on kids playing while they work out. It also has a meeting room and a fun game room with ping-pong, shuffleboard, foosball and a big-screen TV for movie nights. Other features include a playground and an event lawn with artificial turf.
Rorick House is also the official visitor welcome center for Elyson, offering information on new homes priced from the mid-$200,000s to $600,000s by Chesmar, Darling, David Weekley, Highland, Perry, Pulte, Trendmaker and Westin.
Ten fully furnished are open in the Model Home Village next to Rorick House.
Elyson is at Grand Parkway and FM 529, between I-10 west and U.S. 290 west. Students attend three new Katy Independent School District schools, all about two miles from the community.
