George served in the Air Force during Korean War from 1950 to 1954, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sargent. He began his working career with C.H. Heist Corp, and was soon tasked with opening new offices in West Virginia, the Caribbean, and Houston. George retired early from Heist in 1986, as the VP of Southern Operations. He was then recruited for the position of President for Plastic Flamecoat Systems. George served as President for five years, and upon his negotiation of the sale of PFS, he remained with the company until retiring in 1996.

In retirement George pursued his hobbies of wood working, automobile restoration, RVing, and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife, Alice, loved camping, and made many lasting friendships from Texas to Florida to New York. He was especially fond of his “camping family” in the Finger Lakes area of New York at Watkins Glen.

In his final years, George suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, which curtailed RVing and hobbies. His life touched many and those who knew him are grateful to have been part of his life.
