Stinging commentary

-

Regarding “Recognizing reality is becoming difficult” (Page A19, Thursday), apparently Kathleen Parker has been slow to notice fawning, diehard fans supporting politicians without reservation, unless that politician happens to be a Republican. I think we can properly throw a yellow flag on Parker for piling on this president.

Parker’s assertion that only Donald Trump supporters suffer from a “reality discernment malfunction” misses the mark and by a long shot! Lest we forget the voters who blindly and without reservation supported Hillary Clinton. And who can overlook those who, with starry-eyes, twice supported Barack Obama?

Most disturbing in Parker’s argument was the proposition that Trump must be dangerously mad, or at least mentally ill because more than two dozen unnamed psychiatrists, psychologists or other mental health experts have so concluded — although none had ever examined the president.
