Realtor’s knowledge key asset to meeting clientele’s needs

There are many tools on the internet that allow many people to feel like an expert when looking to buy or sell a property. However, the internet does not provide tools only available to Realtors, or the experience and knowledge required to purchase a home.

“Websites do not know value, and cannot answer the questions fully regarding where to live, how to live and what is important to a family. There is a difference between buying a house and buying a home,” said Brian Spack, a Realtor with John Daugherty, Realtors.

Spack’s knowledge of Houston, its lack of zoning laws, and its market help his clients buy smart. One of his sayings is “a good deal or a

good home, for these two items may not always be the same.”

Spack hails from Leawood, Kansas and arrived at the University of Texas in 1981. He moved to Houston after graduation.

“I received my real estate licenses in college and sold campus condos in Austin. After I moved to Houston I worked in the energy industry for 14 years. Then it was time to return to my first love — real estate,” Spack said.

A friend was the one that reminded him of his license, and he knew he was right. His friend knew John Daugherty, made a call and Spack was back in the fold.

“About a week after joining John Daugherty, Realtors, a friend called and asked if I’d find her a new abode. I did, and I knew I was where I was supposed to be, like a calling,” Spack said.

Spack is known for his negotiation and communication skills, and for being available. Yet, his personal attributes, such as sincerely caring about clients, and being empathetic and handson, are what impress his clients the most.

“Home is important to me; it is my sanctuary. So, it is important to me to help others find their sanctuary,” he said.

Home for Spack is in Briagrove, but his focus area is wherever his clients want to go. He is more of an expert in the close-in neighborhoods.

“I love what I do, and I love working with my clients, which may be one reason I work almost 24/7,” Spack said.
