Shepherd eatery to offer passers-by look at curing meat
Doris Metropolitan has hired Houston-based Construction Concepts to redesign and remodel the space formerly occupied by Triniti at 2815 S. Shepherd. The restaurant, which has locations in New Orleans and Costa Rica, is expanding to Houston. Plans call for a wine wall that wraps around the dining room, expanding the private room, and a glass-encased meat-curing room that will be visible from Shepherd. Construction Concepts has handled projects for Tout Suite, 51fifteen at Saks Fifth Avenue and the Original Ninfa’s on Navigation, among others.
Lúa Viet Kitchen will open its first Houston location in Alabama Row, a development of Sloan Properties at West Alabama and Mandell in Montrose. The 2,500-square-foot lease, handled by Alex Kelly of Transwestern, is similar in size to leases by BuffBurger and Lovett Dental in the project. Lúa Viet Kitchen, coowned by Nick Nguyen and Mardi Do, will serve Vietnamese food with a focus on locally sourced and organic ingredients. MC2 Architects is designing the space, which is planned to open this winter. Lauren Heimann of Edge Realty Partners represented the landlord. Ziegler Cooper is the architect and Arch-Con is the builder.
CityCentre, a mixed-use development of Midway near Beltway 8 and the Katy Freeway in west Houston, has signed several new tenants. Social Status, a chain offering collectible sneakers and apparel, recently opened its first Texas location at 818 Town & Country Blvd. Zayed’s Mediterranean Grill plans to open in a nearly 6,000-square-feet space at Beltway 8 and Sorella Court in July. Two boutiques plan September openings: Hemline, 1,200 square feet, and Altar’d State, 7,000 square feet.
Bridgeland announced F45 Training and Athletistry Performing Arts Center as new tenants in Lakeland Village Center near Fry Road and Cypress North Houston in Cypress.
Austin-based Hopdoddy Burger Bar plans to open a location in the Heights Waterworks redevelopment on 19th Street at Nicholson. Braun Enterprises is redeveloping the historic property in a project that includes renovating three existing buildings and adding a new 5,008-square-foot building. Hopdoddy will occupy 4,000 square feet of the new building. Braun Enterprises expects to begin construction shortly after acquiring the city-owned property in late September.
Burn Boot Camp has leased 5,000 square feet at 947 Gessner in Gateway from MetroNational. Opening is planned in September.
Hard Rock Café has opened at Bush Intercontinental Airport. The restaurant and shop, in Terminal B, represents the chain’s second airport location in North America.
