For the fourth year, Morning Star Builders is constructing a Southern Living Showcase home. The 6,000-sqaurefoot home will open its doors for tours in the fall with a portion of the proceeds from the tours benefitting HomeAid Houston, a 501 (c)(3) charity of the Greater Houston Builders Association.

This is also the fourth year that Morning Star has selected HomeAid as a beneficiary of Southern Living’s Showcase Builder Program.

“It is an honor for Morning Star Builders to be hosting the 2017 Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase in Bluejack National Golf Course,” said Yvonne Cummins with Morning Star. “We are looking forward to the upcoming tour that is open to the public Sept. 15 to Oct. 29. This home will showcase ‘elegance and grace with a splash of modern’ that is part of the Southern Living house plan the Elberton Way, and will also raise funds for HomeAid Houston, one of Morning Star’s charities of choice.”

The home, on the No. 2 fairway of the Bluejack National Golf Course, offers visitors unique surprises as they explore this $1 million-plus home that is a “Texas-fied” version of Southern Living’s Elberton Way design. This version of the floor plan doubles the square footage. Features include a conversation room with adjoining temperature-controlled wine room, a master suite with a wet room, a bunk room upstairs, a back porch with a fireplace, cooking center, barn doors and motorized screens to enjoy the views of the golf course.

Bluejack National Golf Course is a new development with a strong connection to golfing and one of golf’s well-known players, Tiger Woods. Bluejack National is a club and resort-style community located on 755-acres of rolling hills. The community, that features the only Tiger Woods-designed golf course and short course in the United States, is limited to 400 residences and 550 memberships.

Builders in the Southern Living program are chosen for their extensive experience, knowledge and reputation in the marketplace.

“HomeAid is honored to be a beneficiary of Morning Star’s Southern Living Showcase Home,” said Salty Thomason, president of HomeAid Houston. “Through this program, Morning Star’s team of professionals, continue their heart-felt commitment to helping the men, women, children and veterans in Houston who are facing homelessness.”
