Protests rage over Venezuelan constitution

-

A few thousand protesters attempted to reach Venezuela’s Supreme Court before clashing with national guardsmen on Saturday, just days before President Nicolas Maduro launches the rewriting of the country’s constitution. The opposition held a nationwide strike on Thursday. Maduro claims it will solve the political standoff and dire economy.
