Marc and their son Henry, grandson Adam Knight and his wife Emily and their children Ella and Gordon, grandson Don McClure and his wife Edith and their children Natalie and Nathan and Bethany, granddaugh­ter Kelly Willcut and her husband Mark and their daughter Jennifer, and grandson Peter Michael Carrico and his wife Liz and their children Jacob and Sydney and his mother Bernice Carrico.

The family wishes to thank Laura Lemus and David Carter for their steadfast devotion to Mary Ann over many years.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening on Sunday, the 13th of August, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

A Memorial Service is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 14th of August at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 2450 River Oaks Blvd., Houston, with the Rev. Dr. Doug Richnow officiatin­g. Immediatel­y following the service, all are invited to greet the family in a reception to be held in the adjacent Life Center. Earlier that morning, Mary Ann will have been interred at Morton Cemetery in Richmond.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, memorial contributi­ons may be directed to the Fort Bend History Associatio­n at P.O. Box 460, Richmond, TX 77406, or to DePelchin Children’s Center at 4950 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77007, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Mary Ann Myers Carrico, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Monday, the 7th of August. She was a fifth generation Texan born the 20th of April, 1926, to August Erroll Myers and Mary Dillard Booth Myers.

She grew up in Fort Bend County at the family farm in Booth, Texas. She attended elementary school at Booth and was valedictor­ian at Richmond High School. She graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in chemistry.

Mary Ann moved to Houston in 1947 and worked at M.D. Anderson Hospital as an assistant on The Texas Cancer Bulletin. In 1948 she married and started her family. In 1973 she remarried Pete Carrico.

She was a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Houston and Calvary Episcopal Church in Richmond. She was active in The Junior League of Houston and served on the Boards of DePelchin Children’s Center, Fort Bend County Museum, George Ranch Advisory Council, and Contempora­ry Arts Museum Houston, as well as having been a founding member of the Texas Institute of Child Psychiatry.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband H.E. (Pete) Carrico and by her sister Dorothy Booth Myers Harrison and her husband James Burr Harrison. She is survived by many loving family members. Her son August Edward Shouse and his wife Deborah Lee Symonds Shouse have children Ed Shouse and wife Kimberly, Tucker Shouse, Courtenay Symonds Birchler and husband Scott Birchler, Samantha Symonds, and Sam Symonds. Her daughter Mary Catherine (Polly) Shouse has children Matthew White and his wife Amy and Mark White and his wife Laura. Her son Earl Booth Shouse has children Robert Shouse and Gregory Stewart and his wife Selena and their children Landon and Hayden. Through Pete, Mary Ann is also survived by daughter Kathi Knight and her husband Gordon, granddaugh­ter Karen Knight Anderson and her husband
