Clients benefit from Baker’s residential builder experience
Elizabeth Baker, a Realtor with Greenwood King Properties, understands what it is like to move to a new neighborhood, city and state, because through her evolving career and life, she has lived in close to a dozen places, nationally and internationally.
In most of the areas where she lived, Baker taught in public and international schools. However, she was in Dallas long enough to attend a design school and become a residential builder for five years.
Building homes from the ground up, she learned a host of knowledge about construction, costs, negotiations, design, materials, quality and inspections. Today, her clients benefit from this knowledge as she reviews homes with them, attends inspections, helps clients see what a space could be, and more.
From Dallas, she came to Houston in the mid1990s, and move into retail, where she became a personal shopper for clients of one of the most respected stores in Houston. Baker’s skills for personal and customized service were sharpened in this role, leading to her success.
Baker’s resume, skills, integrity, communication and market knowledge led her to a long, successful career in real estate.
“Real estate is very rewarding, and I love working with my clients and showing homes. One thing that I learned before entering real estate 18 years ago is to listen to clients, and understand what they are saying,” Baker said.
Most of Baker’s real estate clients today are from referrals of satisfied clients, which speaks volumes about the service she provides, her market knowledge, and finding that needle in a haystack when clients have specific needs in housing.
“If people are buying or selling, it is an exciting and complicated process. I recommend working with a Realtor — one you respect and trust. Today, the industry is too involved, with legal aspects, negotiations, inspections, advertising homes for buyers and the detailed contract,” Baker said.
Baker’s focus area is mainly inside the Loop, but because her clients are referrals, she goes where her clients are interested.
