Mississippi St. shocks LSU
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Nick Fitzgerald threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores to help Mississippi State rout No. 12 LSU 37-7 on Saturday night.
Aeris Williams led the Bulldogs with 146 yards rushing and averaged 6.3 yards per carry. Mississippi State (3-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) beat LSU for just the second time in 18 tries dating to 2000.
“There is nothing more fun than just going out there and kicking someone’s butt, for the lack of a better term,” Fitzgerald said. “We had a great time. We were very physical. We knew we were going to move the ball on them,”
The Tigers (2-1, 0-1 SEC) were sloppy — two touchdowns were negated because of penalties. LSU was penalized nine times for 112 yards.

Riley Ferguson threw for 398 yards and six touchdowns and Jacobi Francis broke up a fourthdown pass in the final minute to seal the Tigers’ upset of No. 25 UCLA at Memphis.
Francis’ breakup with 56 seconds left prevented another fourth-quarter comeback by Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen. He was 34 of 56 for 463 yards and four TDs.
Ferguson completed 23 of 38 passes for Memphis (2-0).
UCLA (2-1) took a 45-41 lead early in the fourth quarter on a 22-yard pass from Rosen to Austin Roberts with 11:51 left. But Memphis answered with a four-play, 81-yard drive. CLEMSON 47, LOUISVILLE 21
Kelly Bryant passed for 316 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more as the No. 3 Tigers downed the No. 14 Cardi- nals at Louisville.
Bryant completed 22 of 32 attempts for 316 yards and outdueled Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson of Louisville.

Donovan Peoples-Jones returned a punt 79 yards for a score and Quinn Nordin tied a school record with five field goals, helping the No. 7 Wolverines overcome their offensive struggles in a win over the Falcons at Ann Arbor, Mich.

Jordan Huff scored the winning touchdown midway through the fourth quarter and the Huskies made two big defensive stops to finish an upset of the Cornhuskers at Lincoln, Neb.
The Huskies (2-1) became the first team not in a Power Five conference or major independent to win in Lincoln since Southern Mississippi knocked off the Cornhuskers in 2004. Northern Illinois is 4-1 against Big Ten teams under coach Rod Carey.
Nebraska (1-2) had two chances with the ball after Northern Illinois went ahead with 8:52 left. But Mycial Allen broke up a pass on fourth-and-7, and Tanner Lee threw his third interception of the game, allowing the Huskies to go into victory formation with 1:36 left. WISCONSIN 40, BYU 6
