Dannenmaie­r-Werner Wedding

Ms. Katherine Starks Dannenmaie­r and Dr. Andrew Timothy Werner were united in marriage at 4:30 in afternoon on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Sudie George Chapel of the First Presbyteri­an Church of Dallas. Reverend Wendy Fenn officiated the double ring ceremony. First Presbyteri­an organist Thomas Froehlich provided music for the service. Profession­al musician and cousin of the bride, Catherine Ratliff of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sang a vocal solo. Following the wedding ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Chaparral Ballroom of the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. The reception featured a cocktail hour, a seated dinner, a slide show of the couple, a photo booth, music by DJ Jim Weisz, and dancing.

The night before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Iron Cactus in downtown Dallas.

The bride is the daughter of Laura Starks and Joseph E. Dannenmaie­r of Dallas, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Dr. Charles and Mrs. Virginia Starks of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and of the late Joseph H. and Clara Dannenmaie­r of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

The groom is the son of Ann and Louis Werner of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Ben and Gertrude Werner of Houston, Texas, and the late James Charles and Dorothy Rothwell O’Brien of Houston, Texas.

The bride was escorted and presented in marriage by both of her parents. She wore her mother’s wedding gown and a Swarovski tiara loaned to her by the groom’s sister, and she carried a bouquet of flowers in the wedding colors of tangerine and dusty blue.

The bride’s attendant of honor was her brother, William Starks Dannenmaie­r. The bride’s additional attendants were her friends McKenzie Andrews, Natasha Patel, and Sabeek Pradhan. The groom’s attendant of honor was his sister, Rebecca Wechter. The groom’s additional attendants were his friends Simon Gurofsky, Shane O’Neal, and Jessica Tizzard.

Serving as ushers were four of the groom’s relatives: Julie O’Brien, Timothy O’Brien, Sr., Timothy O’Brien, Jr., and Timothy Wechter.

Out-of-town guests attended from Vancouver, British Columbia, and from the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachuse­tts, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvan­ia, and from many cities in Texas.

Kay is a 2012 graduate of The Hockaday School in Dallas and a 2016 graduate of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. She is a secondyear student at Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticu­t. Andy is a 2006 graduate of Strake Jesuit High School in Houston, Texas and a 2010 graduate of Amherst College in Amherst, Massachuse­tts. In June 2017, he earned his PhD in philosophy from the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. He is employed as a Lecturer in the Humanities and Philosophy by Yale University in New Haven, Connecticu­t.
