Duke - Saxon

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth James Duke of Houston, Texas announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Alyssa Marie, to John James Saxon, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott Saxon of Baton Rouge.

Alyssa is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Kitto of Chalmette and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Duke. She is the great granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Miranda.

She is a graduate of Klein Collins High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Studies with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University.

Her fiancé is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Pleasant, Mr. and Mrs. David Carey, and Mrs. Janie Saxon of Baton Rouge and the late Mr. Walter Saxon. He is the great grandson of Mrs. Barbara Ruggiero of Marthaville, the late Mr. Anthony Ruggiero and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Pleasant. A graduate of Dutchtown High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with the School of Business from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He is employed as a financial analyst with Goldman Sachs in New York City, NY.

Father Robert Cooper will offer the Nuptial Mass and witness the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in New Orleans on Saturday, October 7, 2017. A reception will follow at the Hotel Monteleone.
