Beckham’s status remains in doubt
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., hobbled by a high ankle sprain suffered in the second preseason game, remains sidelined.
He missed last Sunday’s 19-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and was questionable on the New York Giants’ injury report Saturday. His participation in the light practice session was once again limited, like it was all week.
Coach Ben McAdoo did not shed any light whether the star pass catcher would be able to play Monday night against the Detroit Lions.
“We’ll see how it goes.” McAdoo said. “We’ll take a look at him tomorrow and see how it goes.
“It’s a medical decision. We’re just seeing his level of confidence and where he is sticking his foot in the ground. Communication is a two-way street. It’s visual and verbal.”
Vikes add Sloter as a precaution
With starting quarterback Sam Bradford listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with a knee injury, the Minnesota Vikings signed quarterback Kyle Sloter from their practice squad.
Backup quarterback Case Keenum would start in Pittsburgh if Bradford cannot play.
Chiefs release Spiller, ink Hunt
The Chiefs have released veteran running back C.J. Spiller, clearing room on the roster for former Texans running back Akeem Hunt before Sunday’s home opener against Philadelphia.
Hunt, who is not related to starting running back Kareem Hunt, spent the past two seasons with the Texans as a backup to Lamar Miller.
