Harry Don Hall, 97 passed away quietly on September 10, 2017 in Houston. He was born on September 29, 1919 in Irving Illinois, son of George and Sarah Hall, a proud descendant of the patriot George Clodfelter. He was preceded by his parents, his sister Dorothy Hall Spinner, his brother George Dwight Hall, his wife Elsie Miller Hall, his second wife Connie Eichelman Hall and his son Steven Hall. He is survived by his sons Harry Hall Jr. of Ft. Campbell Kentucky, Dennis Hall of Manhattan Beach California, George Hall of Catonsvill­e Maryland and Gregory Hall of Brady Texas, by his daughter Sherrie Hall of Carbondale Colorado and by 13 grandchild­ren.

Harry grew up on a farm in rural Illinois and graduated from Hillsboro (Ill.) High School in 1938. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from the Colorado School of Mines in 1949. He served his country twice, first in 1945 as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps he won two Bronze Stars flying in B-29 bombers over Japan with the 680th Bomber Squadron and then again in 1954 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army in Germany. After graduating from CSM he worked as a Mining Engineer for 13 years and then began a 25 year career as a Safety Engineer for Boeing, helping the Apollo program recover from the Apollo 1 tragedy and put a man on the moon.
