Nate kills 22 in Central America, hits central Gulf
On Thursday, Tropical Storm Nate killed at least 22 people in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Honduras, dumping rain and causing widespread flooding and landslides before barreling northward toward popular Mexican resorts and the Gulf Coast. On Friday, the storm gained hurricane strength and was expected to threaten Louisiana and Mississippi. Louisiana declared a national emergency ahead of the storm.
