Arthur Roy Holliday, III, “Skip”, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in Houston Texas after a short illness with gall bladder and pancreatic cancer at the age of 82.

Roy was born on October 28, 1934, in Houston Texas. He lived in Beaumont, TX and Baton Rouge, Louisiana before permanentl­y settling in Houston Texas. He attended Texas A&M University in College Station and was a proud graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineerin­g in 1956. Roy married Linda Carolyn Hill on August 28, 1956 and were happily married for 59 years. In 1971 he acquired Alpha Engineerin­g and changed the name to Alpha Process Sales and enjoyed a 35-year career building a successful company which he eventually sold to the employees on an ESOP Program. Roy generously establishe­d two charitable foundation­s at Texas A&M University; The Carolyn & Roy Holliday Charitable Foundation that benefits the George Bush School of Government & Public Service. The second foundation is the Roy Holliday ’56 Aggie Veteran Scholarshi­p Fund benefittin­g Veterans returning to A&M to earn a college degree. Roy also donated time and monies to Special Olympics and CARE. Roy was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church for 40 years and provided support with his tithes and service. A special thanks to Eagles Trace for being so kind and caring to Roy.

He is survived by his son, Scott Hill Holliday and wife, Suzanne Holliday, his three grandchild­ren, Colby Holliday and his wife Cynthia Johanson of San Francisco, CA, Lauren and her husband Tyler Blanchfiel­d of Sugar Land, TX and Austin Holliday of Richmond, TX, as well as his great grandson, Alder Lim Holliday. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lowell & Andrea Hill of Plano, Texas as well as many cousins and friends. Roy is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Carolyn Holliday, his parents, A Roy Jr & Claire Holliday and his sister, Lou Reid.

The funeral Service will be held at 10:30, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in The Friendship Court, Houston, Texas. There will be a reception afterward at Wesley Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840 in honor of the Roy Holliday ’56 Aggie Veteran Freedom Scholarshi­p (0436292).
