Robert Francis Kerwin (Bob) died of heart failure on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the age of 78.

Bob was born on August 16, 1939 in Maryville, MO to Philip and Mildred Kerwin. He was raised on a farm in northwest Missouri before attending the University of Missouri at Columbia where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineerin­g. Bob served as an officer in the US Navy. He earned his Profession­al Engineer (PE) license and worked for nearly 50 years in engineerin­g consulting, petrochemi­cal and power projects.

Bob loved being with family, especially his grandchild­ren, who fondly called him “Papa”. He was an avid reader, history buff and St. Louis Cardinals fan who enjoyed family game nights, traveling, genealogy, sudoku, working in his yard and fixing anything around the house.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Jo Guard and 2 infant siblings. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat Kerwin; children Michelle Forrester and husband Keith, Robert (Brad) Kerwin and wife Stephanie, and Brian Kerwin; grandchild­ren Emma Forrester, Patrick Forrester, Andrew Sullano, Katie Kerwin and Jason Kerwin; brothers Martin Kerwin and James Kerwin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A vigil service will be held at 7pm on Sunday, October 15 and a funeral mass at 10am Monday, October 16 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 8200 Roos Rd, Houston, TX. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
