Michael Joseph Saladino went to the Lord the night of Tuesday, the 10th of October 2017, at age 77.

Michael was proudest of his family, and his greatest role in life was being a father. Michael was a native Houstonian and in 1963, he founded and built the iconic Eastside landmark, “Champ Burger”. He was a generous man and supported many community projects in the Eastside and was a role model to all that he met.

Michael was predecease­d by his parents, Rose and Sam Saladino, and his brother Leon Saladino. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, and their children Jennifer “Jenny” and Julianna. He is also survived by his son Christophe­r, his wife Patti, and their children William, Jessica and Jordan; as well as his daughter Nicole and her daughter Bella. He is also survived by his special cousin and dear friend Polly Cerasa Miller, as well as great grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock this afternoon until eight o’clock this evening Sunday, the 15th of October, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. The recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at seven o’clock.

The funeral mass is to be offered at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 16th of October, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston.

The Rite of Committal is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, memorial contributi­ons may be directed toward St. Agnes Academy, 9000 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77036; or to St. Thomas High School, 4500 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77007.
