Miss Allison Louise Bland weds Mr. Bryan Allen Flick

Miss Allison Louise Bland and Mr. Bryan Allen Flick were united in marriage on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at half past five o’clock in the afternoon at St. John the Divine in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Doug Richnow of St. John the Divine, the Reverend Tom Pace of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and Father Jay Walsh of St. Anne Catholic Church. String music for the ceremony was provided by the Richard Brown Orchestra, with soloist Nancy Curtis accompanie­d by director of music Steven A. Newberry on the organ. A reception immediatel­y followed at The Bayou Club with entertainm­ent provided by Dry Water Band of Fort Worth. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Houston Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Faulk Bland, Junior of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mrs. Barbara Braley Riddell and the late Mr. John Fletcher Riddell, Junior; and Mrs. Betty Elizardi Bland and Mr. Robert Faulk Bland of Houston, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Albert Flick of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Edmond Flick, Senior and Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Clarence Waltzer of New Orleans.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a Monique Lhuillier A-line gown, featuring a V-neck bodice of delicate Chantilly and re-embroidere­d lace. To complement her gown, the bride chose a custom lace appliqued cathedral length veil. The bride carried a bouquet composed of cabbage roses, anemones, hydrangea, and gardenia.

Serving the bride as Maid of Honor was Page Lambert Kahle. Bridesmaid­s were Sally Haar Avery, Caroline Dashiell Dean, Anna Brady Domning, Abigail Eve Finch, Claire Smith Hamilton, Elizabeth Leigh McDonald, Emilie Lauren Pfister, Elizabeth Mckenzie Roark, Lauren Ellen Willson, cousin of the bride, and Laura Jane Wolcott. Honorary attendants included Emma Avril McNamara and Kristen Camille Willson, cousins of the bride. Miss Allison Braley Cook, Miss Molly Marnie Cook and Miss Emma Ash Flick, nieces of the bride and groom, served as flower girls.

Mr. Sam Mikal Solomon served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Michael James Abbott, Robert Riddell Bland, brother of the bride, Mark Jordan Deshotels, Chad Michael Flick, brother of the groom, Franklin Walton Flick, brother of the groom, Spencer Owen Harkness, John Wier McNamara, cousin of the bride, and Norman Stephen Vallette, Junior. Ushers included Curtis Michael Click and Ryan Arthur Guercio. Oliver Warren Flick and Thomas Michael Flick, nephews of the groom, served as ring bearers.

Allison is a 2007 graduate of St. John’s School in Houston and Bryan is a 2007 graduate of St. Martin’s Episcopal School in New Orleans. The bride earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of the South: Sewanee and earned her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University and currently works at Norton Rose Fulbright in Houston. The groom graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in business and earned his MBA from the University of New Orleans and currently works at Whitney Bank in Houston.

Following a honeymoon to Tahiti and Bora Bora, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
