Elyson begins second year with new builders, amenities

-

The Elyson community in Katy is beginning its second year with new home builders, new price ranges and new recreational amenities.

Located at Grand Parkway and FM 529, in the Katy Independent School District, Elyson now offers new homes priced from the low $200,000s, with the addition of CalAtlantic and Meritage to its roster of home builders.

Later this month, CalAtlantic and Meritage will start construction of their first homes in a new Elyson neighborhood of 73 homesites. Prices start in the $220,000s, with plans ranging from approximately 1,470 to 2,540 square feet. CalAtlantic and Meritage will offer new homes priced from the mid $300,000s in another new Elyson neighborhood. Plans range from 2,760 to 3,790 square feet. A number of homesites border a scenic creek along Elyson’s greenbelt trail system, which will ultimately extend for 30 miles.

Both neighborhoods are adjacent to a 13-acre school site that the Katy ISD has purchased for a future elementary school.

CalAtlantic and Meritage plan to open four fully furnished model homes in November in Elyson’s Model Home Village.

Elyson already has 10 model homes by Chesmar, Darling, David Weekley, Highland, Perry, Pulte, Trendmaker and Westin. Overall, new homes are priced from the $220,000s to $600,000s.

Since it opened last fall, Elyson has welcomed more than 170 families, who enjoy amenities including Rorick House, offering a cafe, game room, meeting room, fitness center, event lawn, playground and a year-round swimming pool. Tennis courts will be added in 2018. Also, Elyson recently added a lifestyle director — Kelly Jones.

Elyson students attend a K-12 tri-campus approximately two miles from the community.
