Remodelers Council garage sale benefits local charity projects
The 22nd annual Texas Home and Garden Show covers more than 100,000 square feet, with more than a thousand products and services on hand, including experts and ideas, all for homeowners’ convenience.
The show is set for Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the NRG Center, 1 Reliant Parkway.
Featured at the Texas Home and Garden Show is the 10th annual Remodelers Council Charity Garage Sale. Michael Jorewicz of VEJORE and Stacy Argo at APlus Glass coordinated the efforts, including the donations of building materials, appliances and hardware items to be sold at the show. Attendees have a unique opportunity to purchase what they need to improve their homes at 50 percent to 75 percent off.
The sale is only available to the Texas Home and Garden Houston show attendees. Some items available are appliances, cabinets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, windows, floor tile, sinks and doors.
Proceeds from the annual Charity Garage Sale are used to fund the Remodelers Council local charity projects at non-profit organizations. Past projects include Agape Gateway House, Casa de Esperanza, SIRE Therapeutic Equestrian Center, EHCOS Community Center, Jacquelyn House, Open Door Mission, Habitat for Humanity, and the Sonrise Shelter. This year’s proceeds will go toward funding the Remodelers Council’s 2018 project.
Argo said that, because of the devastation from Hurricane Harvey, the Remodelers Council could assist the public by setting up a Flood Recovery Information Booth, which will be staffed by professional remodelers to offer helpful, up-to-date information and advice to the public.
The Flood Recovery Information Booth will be next to the Garage Sale. Visitors should look for the sign, “Ask the Storm Recovery Experts here.”
