Miss Kathleen Ann Long Weds Mr. William Howard Turner

Miss Kathleen Ann Long and Mr. William Howard Turner were united in marriage on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at seven o’clock in the evening at The Church of St. John the Divine in Houston, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Reagan Winter Cocke. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a Rehearsal Dinner at Grappino di Nino.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Long of Houston. The groom is the son of Ms. Garland Howard Turner and Mr. William Rembert Turner. A Bridal Brunch was hosted by Ms. Mary Ann Long, Mrs. John P. Long, and Mrs. Stephen R. Wilson at benjy’s in the Village. A post-wedding brunch was hosted by Mrs. Dallas W. Johnston, Mrs. John D. Howard and Mrs. Patrick Garner in the Carter Boardroom at the J.W. Marriott Hotel.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a custom Martina Liana gown featuring ivory sequin lace and tulle over satin. She wore a 103-year-old ivory lace hand-embroidere­d bridal veil worn in the 1914 by the great grandmothe­r of the groom, Mrs. Garland Bonner Howard, and, also in 1975 by the groom’s mother.

Nina Williams Guerre served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaid­s included Sara Kelli Bednarz, Kaitlin Kyle Burns, Kimberly Dice Conde, Sarah Rufca Nielsen, Miranda Louise Omer, Jessica Ann Toy and Megan Osborn Wolf.

James Patrick McConathy served as Best Man. Groomsmen included George Emerson Turner, Carlos Peter Bujosa, Jr. , Jack Paul Gay, Jr. , Harrison Courtney Grover, Thomas Taliaferro Hutcheson, Jr. , Walton Harrison Leavell, and Kenneth Elliott Womack III.

Kathleen is a 2005 graduate of Stratford High School, and graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

William is a 2006 graduate of Episcopal High School and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administra­tion.

After their honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Houston.
