Kirby Grove lands Spaces, which caters to freelancers and entrepreneurs.

Spaces will bring its brand of workspaces for professionals and growing businesses to the Kirby Grove mixed-use development for its first Houston location.

The company, which was founded in Amsterdam, will occupy the sixth floor of Kirby Grove, taking up about 25,000 square feet, in the 16-story building next to Levy Park, according to developer Midway. Opening is planned in the spring.

“We offer a global network of workspaces and a full calendar of business events, speakers and networking lunches, and it all keeps members of our community engaged and open to new possibilities,” Michael Berretta, vice president of network development for the Americas at Spaces, said in an announcement.

With locations in the Netherlands, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Australia and Asia, Spaces caters to freelancers, entrepreneurs, international workers, mobile workers, startups and established companies.

Spaces, which has been expanding under the ownership of Regus, entered Texas with a Dallas location in 2016. It plans to open in Southlake, near Fort Worth, next year.

Houston-based Midway developed Kirby Grove, which includes retail spaces and apartments, with institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management. The project is on Richmond near Kirby in Upper Kirby.

“We offer a global network of workspaces …”
