Students to provide music for annual Holly Jolly Jingle
Area students will once again showcase their skills at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s annual Holly Jolly Jingle on Nov. 30.
The event will feature a variety of orchestras and band programs from Conroe ISD, including students from The Woodlands High School, Conroe High School, Oak Ridge High School and The Woodlands College Park High School as well as the Sam Houston State University Symphonic Orchestra and Choir.
Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton complimented the students on the work and effort they have put into rehearsals perform. I think the hard for this event.
“We’re excited about partnering with the Pavilion to provide an opportunity for the students to work is evident when you listen to them perform. It’s an exciting opportunity to show off their talents,” Stockton said.
“I think it’s a great family night and fantastic opportunity to hear their students performing,” he added about the Nov. 30 event.
The main concert performances on stage begin at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. and guests are invited to create holiday arts and crafts, visit with Santa Claus and enjoy preconcert performances by students from Knox Junior High School, McCullough Junior High School and the Conroe High School Jazz Band in the plazas. Children can also enjoy free train rides on the Candy Cane Express in the Gold Lot beginning at 5:30 p.m. while parents wait to get in through the gates.
Ashley Gravois, public relations and education manager, said the event provides an opportunity for students to showcase their skills in a public format.
“Holly Jolly Jingle is one of our favorite events as it gives us the opportunity to fulfill our mission of providing performance opportunities for young artists. We believe it is essential to offer this type of live performance experience as we hope they will continue to cultivate their talent and share it with the community,” Gravois said.
Holly Jolly Jingle will be hosted by award-winning Fox 26 anchor and reporter Sally MacDonald. The event also will feature a reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Stockton, who says it’s “a lot of fun.”
The event is free and attendees are welcome to have a picnic in their seat. Outside beverages are not permitted and picnics must comply with The Pavilion’s 8.5” x 11” bag size restriction and be in original packaging. Examples include pizza within a pizza box or chips in original sealed packaging. In the interest of public safety, guests are always subject to a search upon entering the facility. Guests who refuse the search may be denied entrance.
