Celtics top Suns despite 38 from Booker

BOSTON — Kyrie Irving had a key 3-pointer and a driving basket in the closing two minutes, helping Boston beat Phoenix 116-111 on Saturday.

Irving finished with 19 points, leading a balanced attack for Boston. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris each scored 17 points, Jayson Tatum had 15 and Al Horford added 14 points and 11 assists.

Devin Booker scored a season-high 38 points for Phoenix in his first game at TD Garden since he put up 70 against the Celtics on March 24. T.J. Warren had 19 points, and Tyson Chandler finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds.

Boston improved to 10-2 at home. It shot 57.5 percent (23 of 40) in the opening half, making 9 of 17 on 3-point attempts. Coach Brad Stevens switched his starting lineup for the second half — inserting Daniel Theis and removing Aron Baynes.

Boston will now host the Bucks in the fourth of a five-game homestand.

Phoenix is at the 76ers on Monday in the fifth of a season-high six-game road trip. CAVS 116, GRIZZLIES 111

LeBron James scored 34 points, including seven in the final 1:22, and Cleveland beat visiting Memphis for its 11th straight victory.

Memphis has lost 11 in a row, including three since David Fizdale was fired Monday.

Cleveland has scored at least 100 points in each game during its streak and is closing in on its longest winning streak since it ripped off 12 straight in 2015. MAVS 108, CLIPPERS 82

JJ Barea had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Dallas beat visiting Los Angeles for coach Rick Carlisle’s 700th career win.

Carlisle became the 18th coach in NBA history with at least 700 wins. Greg Popovich (1,164) and Doc Rivers (812) are the only other active coaches to make it to the milestone.

DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Clippers (8-13).

Joel Embiid had 25 points and 10 rebounds and got the better of Andre Drummond down the stretch to help Philadelph­ia to a home victory.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers has been fined $25,000 for a verbal outburst toward a fan during a loss to Utah.
