HomeAid receives check from charity golf event

-

HomeAid Houston, a 501(c) (3) charity of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), was recently presented with a check for $20,000 from Fluor Corp., a multinational engineering and construction firm. The funds were raised at Fluor’s Golf for Greater Houston charity golf tournament. HomeAid was selected as one of 10 beneficiaries of this annual event.

April Nemec, Barbara Jones, Rebecca Schoenherr and Tracy Mooney with Fluor presented the check to Bette Moser, executive director of HomeAid Houston.

Fluor Cares, Fluor’s formal employee volunteer program, is the heart of the company’s community involvement efforts. The program supports and serves the greater Houston-area community through the annual Golf for Greater Houston event, and with the continued support of sponsors, has donated more than $2,100,000. Fluor selected its 10 beneficiaries of the tournament to mark its 10th anniversary.

“This was a huge opportunity and an honor to be selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Fluor Golf for Greater Houston event,” said Salty Thomason, president of HomeAid. “The tremendous community participation through sponsorships and the company’s volunteer program, made the Golf For Greater Houston an event to remember.”

The funds received through the Golf for Greater Houston event will go toward HomeAid’s mission “to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach”.
