On the 7th of December 2017, Keck Carr Kimbell, age 65, passed away while vacationin­g in Jamaica with his fiancé, Carolyn Nihon and friends. He lived in Houston, TX and was from his beloved birthplace of Wichita, Kansas.

Keck attended college at both Wichita State University and Colorado State University on a football scholarshi­p. He graduated in 1975. Upon graduation, he landed a career at Koch industries in Wichita, Kansas. Eventually, he was transferre­d to Houston, TX where he flourished in the Oil and Gas Industry. The last five years of his career were spent at Choice Energy where he loved and was loved by many. Keck enjoyed playing golf with friends and was a founding member of the Houstonian Health Club and Spa. His ritual was to begin and end each day at the Houstonian for a workout, steam shower, and sharing stories with lifelong friends about family and life. Keck was passionate about exercise, fine wine, great food, football, basketball, golf, his Chihuahua Lucy and relationsh­ips. He was a direct line to laughter and a lifeline for sports trivia. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Keck was born the 7th of April 1952, to Kenneth Edward Charles Kimbell, DVM and Dorothy Elizabeth Carr Kimbell. He was preceded in death by both parents; his brother Kenneth Kimbell, DVM, and stepfather V.A. Mueller M.D. Keck is survived by his fiancée, Carolyn Nihon; her daughter, Montanna Caroline Chester; his pets, Lucy, Lady and Godiva; his beloved daughter, Kelly Carr Kimbell; grandson, Cameron Carr Kimbell; former wife, Robin Kimbell; sister Linda Remington; brother Michael Mueller M.D.; sister-in-law Susan Mueller, sister-in-law Joanne Kimbell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family members from both Keck’s and Carolyn’s families.

Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembranc­es of Keck during a visitation from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 20th of December 2017, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, the 21st of December 2017, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

Immediatel­y following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
