Juliann Lee passed away on December 2, 2017. Julie was born in Denver, Colorado to Patsy and Bertrand Purse. A talented musician, Julie played the piano and sang from early childhood. She attended Colorado Women’s College and the University of Colorado studying voice. She was a member of the Madrigal Singers and Delta Delta Delta. At CWC, she met David Weeks Lee, a student at Colorado School of Mines. In 1960, they married and later settled in Houston with their two children.

Julie would later fulfill a long-held dream, opening the Liberty Street Tea Room, a successful restaurant and catering company in Richmond, Texas. Liberty Street was a perfect blend of her skills; extraordin­ary cooking, entreprene­urial know how, design elegance, and an outgoing personalit­y. Julie went on to become a successful stationery sales representa­tive and she later joined the Stationery Department at Bering’s, working along side her dear co-workers.

Julie was an active member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. She was a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, daughter, sister, aunt and gifted homemaker, musician and consummate profession­al. Julie is predecease­d by her beloved husband David and son David, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Lee (Jack Perini); sisters Susan Anderson and Christine Purse (Dirk Blackman); grandchild­ren Margaret and David Lee III, and Robert, Sophie and Juliann Kidd; nephews and nieces Christophe­r and Daniel Anderson and Kate and Rachel Blackman.

Services will be held at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church on Tuesday, December 19th at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Julie’s name can be made to St. Martin’s Hope & Healing Center or Houston Hospice.
