Westin has sold its GHBA Benefit home

-

Westin Homes recently announced the sale of the 2017 Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit Homes Project home. Westin built the home with donated materials, labor and services from GHBA members. Proceeds from the sale benefit two local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

Westin constructed its 4,019-square-foot Carter III plan for this 37-year-old charity fundraiser. Since the fundraiser began, $10 million has been raised.

The home offers amenities and upgrades.

“The home buyer acquires a beautiful home with custom-style features,” said Will Holder, chairman of the project. “The charities will receive much-needed funds to continue their work for the homeless and for wounded veterans returning from service. It is a win for everyone.”

Westin built the Benefit home in the Land Tejas community of Lago Mar, off I-45 south in the Clear Lake/ Galveston area.

The home has five bedrooms (two on the first floor), 4½ bathrooms and a two-car garage with 5 additional feet that can be used for storage or a workshop.

The foyer offers a view of the triple-tiered rotunda ceiling and curved stairway. The home includes a formal dining room, study and a two-story family room that features a wall of windows.

The island kitchen, with upgraded cabinets and breakfast area, is the heart of the home. The private master suite includes a double-tiered tray ceiling with no bedrooms above for a peaceful setting. Upstairs offers a game room and adjacent media room.

“The closing of this home will take place at the first of the year,” said Terry Swenson, public relations director for GHBA. “We can’t think of a better way to begin a new year than by raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for two deserving charities.”

Westin has built its reputation as an elegant, quality builder in communities in Houston and surrounding areas.

“Westin’s focus has always been about customer satisfaction, architectural design and attention to detail,” Holder said. “They are true professionals in the home-building industry, and their generosity reflects their commitment to both their home buyer and the community.”
