Kim Hohman is ‘always thinking three steps ahead’

- By Rebecca Maitland

Those in the market for a new abode often have set wants.

“I always suggest my clients to be open to different types or styles of homes. For example, a family might be looking for a two-story home, but a one-story home might offer many of their wants. I show them the one-story and they love it,” said Kim Hohman, a Realtor with Beth Wolff Realtors Real Living.

Hohman, who has been on both sides of the table as a real estate investor, home buyer and seller, and involved with numerous real estate transaction, does not have a set focus area.

“People are moving from one side of Houston to another, or to surrounding areas, so I go where they are interested. However, many of my clients are interested in The Woodlands, Cypress, Memorial and Midtown areas,” Hohman said.

Hohman was born and raised in Maine. She came to Texas for college, and stayed. She moved to Houston from Texas Tech in 1997 after graduation.

“Houston and all of Texas are wonderful. The warmth and acceptance of a diverse population are exceptional,” Hohman said.

Prior to real estate, she worked with a major airline, and then had her own clothing boutique, which she sold, to begin her real estate career.

“I have always been very interested in real estate, and it is somewhat like having my fashion boutique where as the owner, I had to be selfmotivated, know the trends, working with the personal choices of clients, and helping clients find what they are looking for and envisioning updates,” Hohman said.

Hohman, who was Beth Wolff Realtors Real Living’s Rising Star in 2016, is known for being organized, detail-oriented, making personal commitments to her clients, outgoing, a sincere people person, and she works with clients on their time schedule.

“I learned many things in my previous work experience, such as always thinking three steps ahead and being prepared, continually gathering knowledge, and managing expectations, all of which transferred to real estate successfully,” she said.
