James G. Hondros, born into this world July 12, 1936, took leave of his earthly body on January 11, 2018 while fighting heart disease to be with our heavenly Father. A North Carolina State graduate, he predecease­s Lucille Rose, the wife he so loved and adored for over 62 years.

Patriarch, warrior, and lover of all things that fly, and space, Jim will be deeply missed by his children, Michele, Anthony Cross, and William Blake Hondros, all of Houston, Texas; Grandchild­ren Nathaniel, Candice, Lindsey, Anna Grace, Travis, Trevor; and 3 beautiful great grandchild­ren. Jim’s career spanned over 50 years of service beginning at NACA, now known as NASA, contributi­ng to the challenges, along with so many others, of helping the world blast into the new frontier, and getting a man to the moon, and back. This work goes on, and is left to those younger pioneers to continue.

Services will be held Thursday, January18t­h at Crowder on Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77058 at 2:00 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Associatio­n. As Jim’s family mourns, all are cordially invited to attend a celebratio­n of Jim, and a life well-lived, at Villa Capris immediatel­y following the service.
