JAMES G. HONDROS
1936-2018
James G. Hondros, born into this world July 12, 1936, took leave of his earthly body on January 11, 2018 while fighting heart disease to be with our heavenly Father. A North Carolina State graduate, he predeceases Lucille Rose, the wife he so loved and adored for over 62 years.
Patriarch, warrior, and lover of all things that fly, and space, Jim will be deeply missed by his children, Michele, Anthony Cross, and William Blake Hondros, all of Houston, Texas; Grandchildren Nathaniel, Candice, Lindsey, Anna Grace, Travis, Trevor; and 3 beautiful great grandchildren. Jim’s career spanned over 50 years of service beginning at NACA, now known as NASA, contributing to the challenges, along with so many others, of helping the world blast into the new frontier, and getting a man to the moon, and back. This work goes on, and is left to those younger pioneers to continue.
Services will be held Thursday, January18th at Crowder on Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77058 at 2:00 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association. As Jim’s family mourns, all are cordially invited to attend a celebration of Jim, and a life well-lived, at Villa Capris immediately following the service.
