U.S. military hero will receive mortgage-free home

Operation Finally Home and the Houston Texans surprised U.S. Army Sgt. John Kadleck and his family with the news that they’ll be moving into a custombuilt, mortgage-free home built by Beazer Homes on a lot donated by The Howard Hughes Corp. in The Woodlands, in 2018.

The surprise took place during the Houston Texans game on Sunday, Dec. 10, at NRG Stadium.

Joining the Kadleck family — along with presenting them an enlarged key — was Rusty Carroll, executive director of Operation Finally Home.

The Kadlecks, who are involved in ministry and outreach to veterans in their community, “thought” they were invited to the game by the Texans to be recognized for their volunteer ministry.

During the first quarter, John and the family were on the field for a video board game of “Texans Press Your Luck.”

The final spin revealed he and his family are receiving a custom-built, mortgage-free home from Operation Finally Home. It will be built by Beazer Homes with support from its vendors, subcontractors and the Houston Texans on a lot donated by The Howard Hughes Corp. in The Woodlands.

The ground-breaking was held Dec. 19 at the future site of the home in May Valley at 151 South Vershire Circle in The Woodlands.
